Podcast host says some of the most common ways women are shamed reflect men’s failings

Terms like “single mom” and “daddy issues” are part of the common language and are often used to shame women.

But as one podcast host pointed out, these terms aren’t actually about women. Actually, these are about men and how they are not enough.

The podcast host pointed out that some of the most common ways people shame women actually reveal how the men in their lives are failing them.

Chloe Madison half of the two are behind podcast “Unhinged.” together co-host Emma PaigeDiscuss “everything from relationships and dating to toxic families and careers,” according to the podcast descriptions.

Madison recently went viral on TikTok with a clip from the podcast in which she shared her take on “reframing” the most common ways people shame women.

“It’s kind of crazy how so many common expressions used to shame women actually just point out men’s failings,” she said. “If you think about it, ‘daddy issues’ makes the girl feel like she can’t even keep her dad around, when in reality that’s just the way it is. abandoned him or treated him badly

“A single mother,” she continued. “A man left his partner and all the responsibilities of his child, but the woman was stuck around, doing everything on her own, and yet she is ashamed of it.”

“He’s a psycho ex,” she said later. “A woman reacting to mistreatment It turned out to be illogical..”

a trophy wife — someone who is objectified and valued solely for her appearance, which actually says more about the man who chose her for that,” he continued.

“Or the bad taste of men. A woman is criticized for choosing partners who harm or fail her when, in fact, the fault lies with the behavior of the person doing so,” Madison concluded.

Women are often blamed for men’s actions.

Madison’s view is completely correct, as any woman will attest. These words have become commonplace in society, but they all have a tone of shame.

Dr. Jessica Taylor is the author of: “Why Are Women Blamed for Everything?” British Psychological Association talked to him About the subject of his book in 2020.

“Women are certainly blamed for sexism and misogyny, but this is only reinforced by other factors such as rape myths and stereotypes, belief in a just world, individualism and collectivism, attribution bias or self-preservation, denial of personal vulnerability. and even counterfactual thinking,” Taylor said.

She explained that women are often used as scapegoats in legal matters and are pushed to take the blame themselves when attacked by men.

If women take the blame on men for such ugly acts, they of course also take the blame for smaller issues, such as a father abandoning his child.

Commentators fully agreed with Madison.

The women who came across the video for Unhinged all seemed to agree.

“I think my frontal lobe just developed,” one woman joked.

“They are drawing projects instead of taking responsibility,” added another.

A third wrote: “We’ve been gaslit our whole lives.”

Madison certainly seemed to have struck a chord with his theory. It’s no wonder so many women who are tired of taking the blame on men understand exactly where he’s coming from.
