3 people were seriously injured in the accident that occurred as a result of a chase in Humble

HUMBLE, Texas – 3 people were seriously injured as a result of a high-speed chase in Humble that resulted in an accident.

Police said they attempted to stop a driver going 80 to 100 mph along Townsen Boulevard near the Eastex Highway around 8:30 Friday evening.

They said at one point the driver ran a red light and hit another driver.

“We heard a huge explosion, like a bomb had fallen from the sky, and we went outside the store to see exactly what happened,” said Ammad, an employee at Bahama Mama Incense Store in Humble. “We saw that this car had crashed, completely destroyed.”

Two people in the overspeeding car and the innocent driver in the other car were taken to the hospital.

Police said they were all seriously injured but did not provide further details.

The dog in the speeding car was taken to the shelter without being injured.

It is not yet known why the driver was speeding or what charges he may face.
