The actor whom Daniel Day-Lewis called “without a doubt” the best

If you were to research the greatest players of all time, you’d be sent a pretty consistent list of names. The usual names are Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Meryl Streep, Olivia Colman, Denzel Washington and of course Daniel Day-Lewis. The Irishman is so strong on this list that it’s easy to forget how little he decides to get in front of the camera these days.

before 2017 Ghost ThreadHis previous photo was the hit of 2012 Lincoln’sand his next film, which is yet to be confirmed, will see another five-year gap between films when he joins the cast of his son’s film Anemone. This kind of selective behavior guarantees two things: first, there’s less chance of bad movies hurting your hit rate, and second, when you return to the screen, audiences and critics alike will be gasping to see you.

This is not to belittle Day-Lewis’ talent. He is a commanding performer who demands your attention. His position as one of the true greats of the craft is not just a clever algorithmic concoction, but a triumph of his dedication to making films and playing the roles set for him. Few people are as committed to improving their skills as Day-Lewis.

It’s an attitude he brings to everything he does. Whether it’s escaping the world of Hollywood and becoming a shoemaker in Italy, or becoming a deputy editor at a lifestyle magazine. Port. During his stint with the latter, Day-Lewis a wide range of actors and the films that have shaped his career so far.

The names included possible candidates such as Marlon Brando, Jack Nicholson, Richard Burton and Orson Welles. More ambiguous was the inclusion of Montgomery Clift, a troubled Hollywood star whom Day-Lewis described as “an extraordinary actor… Not because he covered a broad spectrum, but because he was different.”

But there was another star, a younger actor, that Day-Lewis was sufficiently impressed by: his co-star in the film. There Will Be Blood —a film many would consider among his best— the amazing Paul Dano. Day-Lewis made special mention of the actor when speaking to him Chicago Film Magazine.

Typical of most of Day-Lewis’ ventures, “We never actually talked and never met socially during that time because the work took us in different directions.” His dedication to his role often ensures that he stays in character throughout the entire shoot; Dano is also linked to this. “Like me, he indirectly understood that it was important to keep the distance between us,” the master actor said.

But the pair cooled off their feud after filming, as Day-Lewis explained: “But after that we got to know each other a little bit, and I like him a lot as a man – which always helps – but as an actor, I think he’s without a doubt the best guy working right now.” “He is one of the promising young players.”

There is probably no greater appreciation for a player like Dano. The youngster has become a hugely successful player when given the opportunity, and with more roles following this monumental moment, there’s a good chance Dano will end his career as respected as Day-Lewis; he definitely thinks so.
