RUTHERFORD COUNTY, NC (FOX Carolina) – The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office says a man was arrested on drug possession and multiple vehicle-related charges after he crossed the center lane and nearly hit another vehicle.

Deputies say they saw a vehicle cross the center lane near Cherry Mountain Avenue in Forest City on Friday and nearly hit another vehicle.

Deputies reported that the driver was seen reaching into the floorboards during the incident.

Deputies said multiple bags of fentanyl were found in the vehicle driven by 44-year-old John Albert Miller, which had a fake license plate.

Miller was arrested and charged with the following crimes:

• PWIMSD schedule II controlled substance
• felony vehicle/dwelling/premises possession of a controlled substance.
• possession of drug paraphernalia
• fiction/alternative title/credit card/label
• drive left of center

Miller received a $40,000 secured bond.
