Pedestrian killed in accident involving motorcycle: Phoenix Police

Phoenix Police say a man is dead following a pedestrian crash Friday evening.

In the statement made by the police, it was stated that the accident occurred in the region. 50th Street and McDowell. Police teams were called to the scene around 18:00 and encountered a seriously injured man when they arrived at the scene.

Here’s part of the statement from Phoenix Police: “The man, later identified as 36-year-old Edroy McCormick, was taken to a local hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries.”

According to investigators, McCormick “was crossing McDowell Road outside of any marked crosswalk when he was struck by a motorcycle passing from the west.”

“The motorcyclist initially left the area and returned while detectives were investigating,” investigators wrote. “Detectives determined during the investigation that the motorcycle rider’s disability was not a factor. No arrests have been made at this time.”
