Suspect arrested after shooting from Malibu home

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department The suspect who allegedly fired a gun was arrested Malibu At home on Friday afternoon.

Deputies said they received multiple calls to 911 around 2:40 Friday afternoon, with callers reporting gunshots heard outside the home on Carbon Mesa Road. Residents in the area told FOX 11 that law enforcement officers were going door to door, urging residents of neighboring homes to evacuate.

“One of my friends who lives down the street said they were knocking door to door and telling people that if you can be seen from this house, you should leave because they believe he’s trained as a sailor,” Darcy Oherlihy said.

Deputies were unable to confirm to FOX 11 that the suspect had military training.

Footage from SkyFOX showed at least six LASD cruisers outside the home as deputies attempted to surround the home from various angles. When they arrived at the home, the suspect shot at them, authorities said.

Deputies slowly approached the home, and at 4 p.m., deputies told FOX 11 they had arrested a suspect.

Authorities inspected the area throughout the night. No one was injured.

The suspect could be charged with attempting to murder a peace officer “at least three times,” according to Lt. Ronald Klumpp of the LASD.
